Jane Pavis, RYT, came to yoga after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Her Tibetan physician, Lobsang Dhondup, recommended that she do gentle yoga to help her body. After being so athletic during her childhood and teen years followed by kickboxing as an adult, the thought of doing 'gentle' yoga didn't thrill her.

She soon fell in love with the practice. She loved combining the breath with movement and the calmness that brings. She loved understanding how the beauty of yoga is in the mind/body focus. She loved that it doesn't matter how flexible a body is, it's possible to be a beautiful yogi in a wheelchair by working the breath. She loved the philosophy and how the message behind yoga is loving kindness, to yourself and all beings.

In 2004 she was certified as a kids yoga teacher with YogaBugs and started a successful kids yoga company in Southern Marin, bringing yoga to more than 1000 kids and taught adult friends and family. In 2008, she completed the 200 hour teacher training with YogaWorks and transitioned from teaching kids to adults, focusing on people with MS, disease and beginners. In 2009, she attended the NMSS teacher training and was blessed to study with MS Yoga Guru, Eric Small at his LA studio and at the UCLA MS Achievement Center. Jane assists her teacher, Erika Trice at YogaWorks Mill Valley. Over the years, Jane has been on numerous yoga retreats and workshops and has a dedicated home practice.

It is Jane's goal to bring Yoga to everyone who has Multiple Sclerosis and show people that yoga is a healing tool as well as a preventative exercise.
